Brass in Concert (BiC) and Brass Bands England (BBE) are delighted to announce a new concert collaboration that will see Cory Band, winners of Brass in Concert 2024, present a special performance the day after BBE’s Youth Championships.

The concert will take place on Sunday 29 March, 1–3pm, at the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, King Edward’s School, Birmingham, and will be jointly hosted by Brass in Concert and Brass Bands England.

The programme will celebrate Cory Band’s extraordinary success at Brass in Concert, featuring a selection of iconic entertainment repertoire premiered at the contest in recent years. Cory Band have won Brass in Concert six times in the past ten years, firmly establishing themselves as one of the contest’s most successful and influential ensembles.

By scheduling the concert alongside BBE’s Youth Champs weekend, the event aims to create a vibrant, inclusive opportunity for young musicians, supporters and audiences to experience a world-class brass band in concert.

Nigel Stevens, Chief Executive of Brass in Concert, said:

“We’re thrilled to bring one of Brass in Concert’s most successful and long-standing champions on tour as part of this collaboration. Cory Band epitomises the creativity and excellence of the contest, and linking this concert with an inclusive youth event feels like a natural and exciting step.”
