Brass Band Week, the UK-wide festival of brass banding, is only a couple weeks away. Taking place between Saturday 4 - Sunday 12 July, the event is the perfect way to shout about your love for banding and reach new audiences.
All BBE Members, whether they’re community bands, youth bands or contesting bands, are invited to register their events as part of the Week in order to benefit from a range of promotional activities. As well as raising awareness of bands and the spaces they play in, Brass Band Week aims to connect audiences with bands, including opportunities to support a band, hear performances, or begin playing themselves.
This year’s event listings are exclusive to you, our members, and it couldn’t be easier. To register an event, simply log in and upload from your member account on the BBE website - the event will automatically pull through to the listings tab.
Prize draw
Every band who submits a listing for a summer event will be entered into a prize draw for brass band related goodies. These include:
- x2 free tickets to Brass in Concert (worth £80)
- £150 voucher to be used on Denis Wick products (two available!)
- An instrument cleaning and care hamper (worth £50)
- A full printed and laminated set of Brass Foundations Enable: Rhythm Cards (worth £35)
- £50 voucher to be used on any Brass Bands England training
- A band set of sheet music magnets (worth £20)
Nominate your band for the Brass Band Week Awards
As part of the celebratory occasion, this year we're hosting the Brass Band Week Awards. The four categories open to nomination are:
- Best Massed Band Event Award
- Brass Band Week Project Award
- Heart of Banding Award (individual)
- Best Educational Initiative Award (Proms in the Playground specific)
Pre-order your Brass Band Week merch
In addition to exclusive listings, you also have the benefit of pre-ordering free merchandise to use at your Brass Band Week events. These items are packs of Brass Band Week bunting, very handy hand-fans, and sticker packs for those taking part in Proms in the Playground.
Merch is available to pre-order until 5pm on Thursday 25 June, allowing us to get everything sent out in time.
Members can also download assets, including a poster and Brass Band Week temporary frames for use on Facebook. All are available via the member resource (members must be logged in to access).
