The Brass Band Conference is for everyone involved in the world of banding. To ensure the programme reflects this, conference organiser Brass Bands England is seeking input from leading voices in the community. The Brass Band Conference is an annual event and awards ceremony providing an opportunity for brass banders from across the country to learn, share and network.

The next conference will be held at The University of Huddersfield on Saturday 7 October 2023 on the theme of Heritage and Innovation.
Submit your proposal
Brass Bands England staff and trustees are now inviting relevant proposals for content sessions that can be delivered, from the brass banding community and beyond that seek to share best practice and promote forward-thinking ideas. The aim is to curate a diverse, inspiring programme of talks, practical workshops and creative elements that open up discussion and encourages critical reflection.
Session Formats
Conference sessions or presentations (of up to 40 minutes) can take the form of:
- Practical workshops
- Discussion sessions
- Networking
- Presentation
The overall programme will be curated to encourage a diverse range of presenters, perspectives and topics.
Strong proposals will feature:
- Clear links to the conference theme
- Presenters with relevant knowledge and experience
- Creative and inspiring delivery approaches
- Aspects relating to diversity and inclusion in banding

Conference proposals will be accepted until 9am on Monday 27 February 2022 using the form below or at this link.
Conference presenters will receive the following:
- Free attendance at the conference day
- Promotion of work presented at the conference
- Reasonable travel expenses
- Speakers fees will be available for independent or freelance presenters
