Every Tuesday evening throughout July and August Lyme Regis Town Band plays in the performance area on Marine Parade, Lyme Regis from 7.45 pm until 9.00 pm. The concerts are free and we play a wide variety of pieces including marches, music from the stage and screen, pop songs, etc. We encourage audience participation and provide plenty of percussion instruments so that everyone, young and old, can join in - there is a real party atmosphere. We play for locals, family and friends and we also have many visitors who come to see us every year and we are an important part of their holiday. If they have their instrument with them they are encouraged to sit in with us and several do. The setting for our concerts is magical as both players and the audience can enjoy magnificent views along the Jurassic Coast as the sun sets. We are even told that people out in boats enjoy hearing our music drifting across the sea. Brass band music and the seaside is the perfect combination and playing on the seafront is an absolute pleasure for the band.
