MusEd Safe is a partnership between Brass Bands England (BBE) and Music Mark that gives Music Mark members discounted access to BBE's award winning safeguarding training, policy writing tools and use of the BBE Body of Persons Approval (BOPA) to cover groups for child performance licensing requirements.
Every organisation with child performers (compulsory school age) will need to consider Child Performance Licensing within their event planning. The system we offer will save you time and effort in dealing with local authority systems, which often don't consider the needs of music organisations specifically and whose requirements might significantly change from one local authority to another. Particularly, you won't need to use Local Authority approved chaperones, just DBS-checked adults.
The price of MusEd Safe is discounted, so you only pay for the resources relevant to your groups and it doesn't include all of the services that BBE offers such as discounted DBS checks. The benefits of the system can be used by the constituted organisation i.e. Music Hub activities but not those of Hub Partner organisations who will need to take out their own subscription.
Included in MusEd Safe membership is:
- Use of the national BOPA for Child Performance Licensing
- Safeguarding and BOPA support and advice
- Use of the BandSafe safeguarding self-assessment tool
- Two free places on BandSafe Training
- Discounts on BBE events including additional BandSafe Training events
- Validation of external DSO Level Safeguarding Training (Level 3 safeguarding training)
- Advice on legislative changes
- Access to downloadable policies and information packs
