Brass Bands England are delighted to partner with Lancashire Music Service to deliver an online CPD session for Youth Band Leaders and Brass Teachers.
This practical workshop afternoon will be led by BBE Youth Brass Development Specialists Helen Minshall and Sheila Allen and will be live streamed from The Victoria Hall in Bolton. This is an ideal professional development opportunity for educators based in schools or community settings.
What will the workshops cover?
Helen and Sheila will be focusing on delivering exciting sessions to beginner brass players, including:
- Using rhythm and singing warm-ups
- Developing skills in playing to backing tracks
- Teaching techniques to beginner players
- Using confidence building exercises
- How to structure a rehearsal
- Encouraging trying out different musical instruments
- Connecting with the Model Music Curriculum
Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, we've had to make the decision to move this training day to a digital event. The sessions will be streamed for delegates to attend via a live Zoom session. A joining link will be emailed to all participants prior to the workshop.
