Gala Concert with finalists: 7.30pm
This Gala Concert will feature the Elland Silver Band giving an entertaining and enjoyable concert programme for all the family. This event is also the culmination of the Brass Band Conductors’ Association Conducting Competition, which will have been taking place throughout the day. The five finalists will each conduct Elland Silver Borough Band in a concert item. Whilst the band entertains us the adjudicators will select the winners who will be announced and presented with their prizes at the end of the evening.
Watch the Conducting Competition Semi-final: from 11.15am
Halifax Minster will be open during the day from 11.15am to 3.00pm for members of the public who wish to watch the semi-finals of the conducting competition, during which ten semi-finalists rehearse the Hammonds Band playing sections of 2 chosen test pieces. There is no entry fee and the cafe will be open.
The day will provide a great opportunity for conductors, and would-be conductors to speak to representatives and members of the Brass Band Conductors' Association and find out more about what it has to offer.
Tickets for the Gala Concert, priced at £10 will be available from the Halifax Minster website and Minster shop in the run up to the event. Under 16s go free.
