Social media can be bewildering. Every day it seems like there’s a new app being released, strange TikTok trends to jump on and billionaires posting questionable tweets. So, how can brass bands use it and manage to have fun at the same time?
In this session we’ll take a no-nonsense look at what the point of social media is, some ways we can use it, how to be realistic with our precious time and what a good social media post actually looks like. You will leave the session armed with some examples of great social media, some new tools to help you create your own and a better understanding of how it all works. There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, there will be a short break halfway through and you are not required to prepare anything.
What you will learn:
- The purpose of different social media channels and who uses them
- How to get in the heads of your audience and what they want
- How to plan and create ideas for social media posts
- How to design and write effective social media posts
