Originally from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, Colum began playing Cornet at the age of nine. Since then he has gone on to play for some of the finest bands in the country.
Colum has always been grateful for the support shown to him by his school, giving him many conducting opportunities in both band and choral settings. In 2012 he became Musical Director of the Newark & Sherwood Concert Band where he still has his residency today, working with the band to become an organisation of almost 100 musicians in that time. Colum has been working with brass bands in the Midlands and Yorkshire regions and currently conducts the Chapeltown Silver Prize Band in Sheffield. Colum is regularly in demand as a conductor and looks forward to sharing his experience, representing the Midlands Region of BBCA.
