BBE has announced the theme, date and location for The Brass Band Conference 2024. In the closing speech at today’s sold-out event (The Brass Band Conference 2023), BBE Chair Mike Kilroy confirmed that the next conference will take place in London on Saturday 19 October. Following previous themes of ‘Resilience and Sustainability’, ‘Improving Our Art’, ‘Banding for Life’ and ‘Heritage and Innovation’ the 2024 conference will focus on ‘Creative Communities’.
BBE’s Chief Operating Officer, Sarah Baumann, commented: “Next year’s theme will be a reflection of our commitment to, and representation of, brass bands of all specialisms and levels of experience. The aims of our work for our primary funder, Arts Council England, are to support creative people, cultural communities, and a creative and cultural country. We know that brass bands deliver all of these things in dividends. We aim to bring people together to showcase the importance of bands, within the fabric of their communities and highlight the truly unique work taking place across the UK.”

Sarah continued “As we have done this year, we will be running an open call for contributors in early 2024, and would encourage anyone considering submitting a proposal to present on this theme to get in touch for an informal conversation.”
Further information about ticket booking, chances to present and sponsorship opportunities will be announced in early 2024. Individuals are asked to save the date in your diary now if you would like to attend.
