The Brass Band Conductors’ Association (BBCA) is excited to be working with the UniBrass Foundation as part of their annual contest, this year at Warwick Arts Centre on Saturday 11 February. The partnership will see BBCA members attend the UniBrass 2023 contest and observe the performances of competing bands. Competing conductors will then be given the opportunity to meet with a representative of BBCA to discuss the performance, offering comments and feedback.
Speaking of the partnership BBCA Chair, James Holt, commented:
"I am delighted to be offered the opportunity to work with the UniBrass team, having held discussions it was clear we had a similar mindset and passion for bands. This partnership will help us to work with conductors as they make their way through their musical journey. We do not profess to have all the answers but are here to provide support and stimulate conversation to best assist any conductor. I am very keen for the Association to be supporting events, such as this one, and offering all we can to the development of conductors."
James Everitt, Chair of the UniBrass 2023 Organising Committee, said:
“I am really looking forward to welcoming representatives from BBCA to UniBrass 2023 (at the Warwick Arts Centre on Saturday 11 February). It is tremendously exciting to be able to offer this fantastic opportunity to conductors at the contest this year. This will make a big difference both for their own development as brass band conductors and for the university bands who will benefit from having even stronger conductors going forward!”
