The Brass Band Conductors’ Association has extended the entry window for this year’s flagship conducting competition. Conductors will now have until 30 April to submit their applications. The extension has been made in order to allow conductors time over Easter to prepare their video submissions for the first stage of the competition.
Competition prizes
The competition presents an exciting opportunity for conductors of all levels and nationalities. Presentations will be made to the top three finalists and the winner will receive a cash prize of £200, a year's free membership of the Brass Band Conductors' Association and a winners’ glass plaque. They will also have the opportunity to work in rehearsal and performance, with two of the UK's leading Brass Bands. There is also a prize for the best UK-based entrant.

The shortlisted candidates will demonstrate their test-piece conducting skills at the helm of the Hammonds Band. The final six candidates will then go on to conduct a concert item performed by the Eccles Borough Band in a Gala Concert.
