Brass Bands England (BBE) has announced the launch of a new initiative to deepen its engagement with all areas of the banding sector. Today at the Brass Band Conference, held at The Life Centre in Sale, CEO Kenny Crookston announced that BBE will be accepting expressions of interest from individuals wishing to join the newly-created Members’ Working Group, which will be launching in early 2023.
Kenny commented “Consulting with individuals across the banding sector has always been vital to our work at BBE. The new Members' Working Group formalises that, giving group members a say across the whole range of our work. It is one of a number of new ways we are working to give our members a voice in our activities, and ensure that the needs and priorities of the whole sector are heard. This is a space for forward-thinking banders with new and imaginative ideas to influence BBE’s future strategy to serve the banding community.”
The Members’ Working Group will meet virtually four times a year (on Zoom), a month in advance of the BBE Trustee board meeting. The group will be led by Kenny Crookston and BBE’s Membership Services Manager Rosie Banham.
Saturday 18 February (10am - 12pm)
Saturday 20 May (10am - 12pm)
Saturday 22 July (10am - 12pm)
Saturday 28 October (10am - 12pm)
Those interested in joining the Members’ Working Group should register their interest using this form. Brass Bands England Staff and Trustees will shortlist and invite suitable candidates by the end of December 2022. The deadline for submitting expressions of interest is 9.00am on Monday 12 December.
Kenny added “When the group first launches in February 2023, we are hoping that we will have a small engaged group that is representative of the wider banding sector. We look forward to receiving expressions of interest from members from across the whole of England, with a range of experience to bring to the group.”
This opportunity is only available to members of Brass Bands England. Any questions about this opportunity can be emailed to member@bbe.org.uk
