BBE is seeking artists representing a range of disciplines to pair with member brass bands looking to challenge their normal performance practice with artists who will help push their boundaries by exploring new ideas, genres and ways of performing in a collaborative partnership.
BBE’s Chief Operating Officer, Sarah Baumann, commented: “The first few rounds of Elevate have seen exciting, unique pairings, and we are looking forward to expanding our pool of artists to be a part of our artists activity over the next few years.
Sarah continued: “We are deliberately keeping the definition of ‘artist’ broad to allow for opportunities for creative individuals from a range of disciplines and backgrounds to work on the project. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for bands and artists to create something truly unique and innovative.”

How can I get involved?
An open call for applications for Artists is open until Monday 15 April 2024. To discuss the opportunity, interested artists can book a 1:1 Zoom call with BBE’s Projects Officer, Jess Wilson, or email elevate@bbe.org.uk.
Applications for brass bands to participate in Round 4 of the programme will open in May 2024.
