At today’s Brass Band Conference, we launched a new free will writing service available exclusively to you, our members.
The service is provided in partnership with Farewill, the UK's top-rated will writing provider. The company’s mission is to make will-writing simpler and provide an affordable way to leave a meaningful legacy to causes that people care about.
Wills can be created either online or via telephone, and every will is checked by a specialist.
Our CEO Kenny Crookston says: "There are no strings attached to this free service, which we have added to our growing suite of benefits and discounts available to BBE members. The idea is - of course - to encourage legacy giving, and you can leave a small gift to BBE - or a big one - should you wish to.
Brass Bands England is a busy and passionate team who run countless initiatives to support the banding community, from our Brass Foundations education programme, to the indispensable Brass Bands Archive, to our work safeguarding the present and future of all sorts of bands across the country.
I hope the service provides an easy way for anyone to make a difference to the future of this art-form we all know and love. So, are you someone who doesn’t have a will yet? If so, I’d like to invite you to create yours, completely free, on us.”
Some ideas of how you could support banding in your will could be:
- Donate £100, the usual cost of on online will, back to Brass Bands England
- Leave 1% of your assets to safeguard the future of the Brass Foundations programme
- Give £240, the cost of a telephone will, to support maintaining the Brass Bands Archive for future generations
- Leave £1,000 to give an entire primary school the chance to participate in brass-playing workshop
This one-time benefit launched during national Free Wills Month and will remain available for one-month only, or when available wills have been allocated.
To take up the offer, please login your account and visit the Farewill listing in their BBE Member Resources library.
