The Brass Bands England Awards are designed to recognise those individuals and organisations in the banding world that have made an exceptional contribution to brass banding. There is much that deserves to be celebrated, from tireless dedication to imaginative projects and collaborations.
This year we have made a couple changes to the nominations, the first of which is that the Outstanding Contribution Award will now be separately selected by a board of individuals, in a similar vein to Lifetime Achievement. Following feedback around the Young Bandsperson Award, a new Rising Star Award has been created for those under 18.
The six categories that will be open to nominations are as follows:
-
Band Project of the Year
-
Brass Band Conductor, supported by the Brass Band Conductors’ Association
-
Green Hero
-
(NEW) Rising Star
-
Services to Youth
-
Young Bandsperson
More information on the individual awards can be found on the Awards page.
How can I make a nomination?
Nominations can be made online when the online form opens on Friday 31 January, until midnight on Friday 4 April.
Shortlisting and Awards ceremony
Following nominations, the shortlist will be announced in early June. A judging panel will be made up of BBE trustees and senior staff, who will select a shortlist and choose a final winner across most categories.
Winners will be revealed during a special ceremony at Brass Band Conference, which will take place on Saturday 27 September in Durham.
