BBCA 2025 Conducting Competition now open
BBCA’s 2025 Conducting Competition is now open for entries. The annual competition is the BBCA's flagship event and is open to conductors of all levels, from anywhere in the world. Candidates are asked to submit their video entries by midday on Thursday 10 April for shortlisting, from which 10 semi-finalists will be invited to take part in the final competition day at Halifax Minster on Saturday 28 June.

Trailblazers - conductors panel discussion with Katrina Marzella-Wheeler
Katrina Marzella puts questions to acclaimed and aspiring conductors about their conducting journeys - their inspiration, challenges and highlights at the BBCA's next virtual networking event on Thursday 27 March at 7pm. Amongst the panel will be Jessica Sneeringer from the US’s first all-women Athena Brass Band showcased at the RNCM International Brass Band Festival this year. Joining her will be Anne Crookston, who has a wealth of experience from a wide-ranging musical career as a player, adjudicator and conductor, as well as guest women conductors setting out on their conducting careers.

The Brass Band Conductors' Association partnered with Brass Bands England in October 2019, which saw the two bodies coming together to develop educational opportunities for conductors and BBCA members receiving free BBE Individual Membership.
