Following an enthusiastic input from the brass band community that saw over 100 nominations made across the categories, BBE is pleased to announce the shortlist for the Brass Bands England Awards 2023.

BBE Chair Michael Kilroy commented: “A big thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a band, performer, conductor or project. Your contribution means that we can now celebrate their success and commitment within our community. The standard this year was, as always, incredibly high, and that shows in our shortlist - a true showcase of brass banding across the country.”

The winners of the Awards will be announced at a ceremony at The Brass Band Conference 2023 on Saturday 7 October at the University of Huddersfield. The Conference will include keynote speaker Gavin Higgins, an exclusive Q&A with Arts Council England CEO Darren Henley, and a host of speakers and presentations on a theme of "Heritage and Innovation". It promises to be a day of networking, sharing and learning. See the full programme here.
