The BBCA’s annual flagship conducting competition is open for video entries until 11 April. Following the preliminary video round, the top ten semi-finalists will get to take the reins of the championship Hammonds Band in rehearsal at Eccles Town Hall on Saturday 15 June.
As part of their prize, winners from the last 2 years’ competitions had the experience of conducting the Foden’s Band in their pre-Nationals concert at the Regent Hall, London. 2022 winner Boris Opliger and 2023 winner Matthew Ryan spent time with BBCA President Russell Gray preparing Foden’s for the Nationals, and took away the winner’s trophy, £200 and a year’s free membership of the BBCA. This could be you! To add to this Russell Gray is also offering a unique mentoring experience to the wealth of prizes.
Entrants are required to send in videos of themselves conducting by 11 April to be shortlisted for the semi-final. All BBCA members will receive feedback on their entries.
Competition entry is open to all and discounted for BBCA members. If you’re not yet a member Join today. For more information email bbca@bbe.org.uk.
