We’re incredibly pleased to share the news that the BBE Fundraising Service has seen another victory for the Cumbria based Drum and Brass, a BBE Member Band who have successfully secured Arts Council England funding for their new project Brass at the Castle.
Brass at the Castle, which was awarded a grant of £18,963.00, will offer a day of music, community and shared heritage in glorious surroundings at the spectacular Lowther Castle in Penrith on Saturday 13 July 2024.
Julie Hoggarth of Drum and Brass said: “It has been a pleasure working with Beth Lambert, BBE’s dedicated Fundraising Manager, on the bid for this project that means a great deal to bands in Cumbria. She put her considerable expertise but equally her passion into working in partnership with Drum and Brass. The result speaks for itself!”
The event will take place during the newly launched national Brass Band Week, organised by Brass Bands England and open to all bands across the UK to register their event, benefit from a large-scale marketing campaign, and raise awareness of brass banding.
The event also serves as a launchpad for the Cumbria Brass Network.
Don’t miss out on funding for your projects
Our Fundraising Manager, Beth Lambert, said: ‘I’m really pleased with the result for Julie and the team on their Brass at the Castle project. I know they’ll deliver a fantastic event. Brass band projects like this offer so many benefits to communities, particularly in terms of inclusivity and rurality as well as encouraging new players of all ages to pick up an instrument. These are all things that funders want to see! So I really encourage bands to have the courage to ask for financial support - please do get in touch if you’d like to chat about bringing your project ideas to life.”
Bands who are interested in utilising the Fundraising Service, exclusively provided to BBE members at a heavily subsidised rate, can find out more on our Fundraising Service webpage or book a free initial consultation with Beth.
