The band was formed in September 2019 by the late Mr Lionel Dunn who wanted to create a band for the local community where brass musicians of any standard would be able to come together to make music. With links to the town and even the original Luton band, musicians from the area came together to form Luton Brass Band. However, only 6 months into our journey we were forced to stop meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic and this is when we sadly lost our founder.

It wasn’t until July 2021 that we were able to meet to start rehearsing and performing again. Since then, we have begun to establish ourselves performing at local events and had the privilege to perform at the opening of the Luton Bandstand in April 2022.
