Announcing our autumn training line-up

Monday, 19 August, 2024

Today we are announcing our line-up of training and networking events for the autumn, through to the end of 2024.

The busy schedule sees a varied programme, which includes free and discounted training #for bands and individuals who are members of the organisation.

Events include a series of webinars, drop-in and networking sessions and in-depth training sessions on the topics of safeguarding and band governance.

I'm not a member, can I participate?

Every term BBE offers some training events and webinars absolutely free for everyone, including non-members. Most other training sessions can be accessed by non-members for a fee.

BBE member benefits

Brass Bands England members have some excellent member benefits for the events series, with access to all Webinars and Drop-In Sessions free of charge, discounted rates for BandSafe safeguarding training and exclusive access to BBE’s Finance, Fundraising and Governance training courses.

Attendance of certain events is limited so booking early is advised.

BBE’s COO, Sarah Baumann, commented: “Our online training and event series continues to be popular, with ongoing requests for a broad range of topics to be covered. Increased requests for networking in our 2024 Members Survey has informed our programming, and so this autumn we are offering a series of Members’ Meetups to encourage BBE members to connect with their counterparts from across the country.

Inclusion is always high on the agenda for our webinar series, so it’s fantastic to be kicking off the programme with a guest speaker on Neurodiversity, alongside sessions delivered by experts on the BBE team on Fundraising and Heritage. As usual, Autumn sees The Brass Band Conference as a highlight event which provides an ideal opportunity for networking, with highlight speakers including Shri Sriram and a panel chaired by Edward Gregson.”

Sarah continued: “We’ve already started planning the BBE Spring 2025 events programme, and as always we want to hear from our members as to what topics they would like to see programmed.”

Any topics you would like to see featured in future events or members resources can be suggested via email to events@bbe.org.uk.
