At today's Brass Band Conference we confirmed the date, venue and theme for next year is already set.
The Brass Band Conference is the biggest learning and sharing event in the brass banding calendar. The 2025 conference will take place on Saturday 27 September 2025 at Redhills, the Durham Miners’ Association Hall in Durham city centre. Demonstrating BBE’s dedication to the future of the brass banding sector, the 2025 theme will be ‘The Next Generation.’
Our Chief Operating Officer Sarah Baumann says: “Over the past few years, BBE has taken strides in Youth Voice, and next year we are going one step further. The 2025 Conference will be youth-led, with programming guided by our Youth Voice Working Group. We’ll also be creating a new opportunity for a paid internship as a Conference Producer, which is an excellent opportunity for someone early-career to gain event management experience. In order for banding to continue to thrive, we need to listen to the next generation of players, contest organisers, conductors, composers and audiences, and create opportunities for them.”
The Future We Build
The Redhills: Durham Miners’ Hall is currently undergoing a period of re-development, reopening to the public in Spring 2025. The National Heritage Fund project will see the building transformed into a centre for culture, heritage and education to celebrate the past that we inherit and the future we build. The new facilities on offer and the shared heritage of the space, make it the ideal venue for next years’ conference.
As in previous years, an open call for contributors for the conference will open in January 2025, with tickets going on sale in May. Register for BBE events and news to be notified.
