About Youth Champs
Youth Champs is the National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain. It is open to all youth bands across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, offering bands a chance to perform on a national platform in either a competitive or non-competitive capacity.
The event is designed to celebrate, unite and promote youth music-making in brass bands at all levels. The event takes place annually, touring different locations across England, and is run by Brass Bands England.
Why should I come to Youth Champs?
You may have a family member or friend who is performing in one of the participating bands, or may have a young person in your group who is a keen brass player. You might just want to support the banding community’s future brass-playing talent.

Youth Champs 2025: what’s involved?
Bands will perform in three sections: Championship, YAMAHA Performance, and the Besson Prodige Showcase. All sections will perform programmes of their own choice, the Championship section will also perform a set test piece composed by celebrated brass band composer Phillip Sparke.
The event will also host a trade fair, offering the chance to find out more about musical traders and manufacturers such as YAMAHA and Besson Instruments.
Tickets
Audience tickets can be bought on the day via the Box Office. The Box Office will be open from 8 am, with the first band performing at 9.30 am.
On the day ticket prices:
Adults: £16
Children under 18: £8
Children under 5: Free
The Box Office will be signposted so please look out for event signage when arriving on site.
Tickets purchased in advance can be collected from the Box Office/Information desk in the Learning Resource Centre on the day of the contest, under the name you provided when purchasing online. Please note advance ticket purchase has now closed.
