About this event

Come and watch the thrilling young musicians of the National Youth and National Children's Concert Bands perform at Saffron Hall as part of their Spring residential course.

NYCB and Music Director, Jonathan Parkes will premiere the wind band version of "Sisters in Arms" by National Youth Jazz Collective Artistic Director, Issie Barrett. They will also be joined by flute virtuoso, Lisa Nelsen, for the World Premiere of Bill Connor's "La Chasse Galerie", a flute concerto based on a Canadian folk story.

NCCB and their conductor, Adam Broughton, will be exploring the enormous range of colours a wind band can produce in a scintillating programme ranging from Ralph Vaughan Williams' classic "Folk Song Suite" and Frank Ticheli's stunning "Simple Gifts" to music from the West End hit, "Wicked".
